My baby girl turn one!!

I am so blessed to have two wonderful boys but having a girl is wonderful too. I love to dress her up. It is amazing to be a third child because she is learning fast. Already, she can say quite a few words. She is taking a few steps but is not yet walking by herself. Time does fly. I am surprised that she is already one. I had plan a big party for her but unfortunately it fell in the week I went up for the burial. Didn't matter because my baby girl deserved at least her first birthday. We were able to celebrate it with a very good friend of mine who also had a daughter Allie who was 8 days older. I wanted them to have it together because they are best buddies!! We just went to the park with some family and friends. It was such a good day!

It has been quite a few months since I last posted. Alot has been going on, especially this month; I went to visit my Abuela in New York towards the end of February. She has dealt with lymphoma for greater than a year. My Abuelita was taking chemotherapy for over a year. She finally decided it was way too much for her and she could no longer handle it at 89 years old. Early in January, she kept saying that she did not think she would be alive to see her eighth great-grandchild be born. My cousin's wife is due at the end of March, so I decided it was time to go visit her before she passes. Luckily, Michael was off for a week, so we drove up to New York to visit her.
It was a wonderful visit. I was glad to see her and hug her as she means the world to me. Shortly after we left New York, my sister called me saying she was not doing well. We knew then it was time for her to go, and a few days later she passed away.
Elena and I flew to New York for the burial. It was not as tough as I thought it would be, but I knew she was no longer in pain and is now with my Mom!! We have two wonderful angels now watching over us. I miss my Mom and Abuela deeply, but I know I will see them again. This is a picture of her and Elena when we went up in September 2010.

Gabriel Birthday!!

My baby boy has not yet turned three yet but we celebrated early because Michael was off and we are going out of town the day of our birthday. He wanted a choo birthday cake with a ninja turtle. Well, I got little better from doing Samuel's cake. Gabriel was so excited when he woke up. How blessed I am to have another handsome young boy. He makes me so proud too. Since Samuel started school Gabriel wanted to go to school too. Next year he will start preschool.

My handsome Samuel turned 5 in August. I am so blessed to have such a smart and handsome boy. He has grown a lot and I am very proud of him. Samuel wanted a castle birthday cake. How in the world I made it was luck!! He was so excited when he saw it.
Samuel also started a kindergarten program this year. Michael and I are paying for it. If he does well then we will send him to first grade and if we feel that he needs to stay in kindergarten then we will let him stay there. We didn't want to send him right away to regular school because I know him. He couldn't handle a full day of school. He comes home for lunch and we have total melt down. I couldn't imagine if he stayed all day! He is doing really well and has made a lot of friends.

This is a picture of me and my good friend Brigette and her kids Alexandra and Brayden . We were at the blue plum festival. The kids had a blast that day. It was really hot but at least we enjoyed it. I am going to miss you guys!!! She moved with the family this weekend :(

These are my boys and their good friends Robbie and his sister Mariah. So, Samuel and Mariah have an love and hate relationship. They do get along but there are times where they are going at it. Not fighting but arguing a lot!!!

The rest of the pictures are just us and of course the boys being silly!! As you can see from some of the pics the boys love their baby sister. I don't blame them I can't resist holding her too!!

Elena's Blessing!!!

Well, the day was beautiful and we were so blessed to do her blessing on the first Sunday of May. I was so grateful that Michael's mother was able to do her Elena's gown. It was actually part of my wedding dress. Carol used the train from my wedding dress. I kind of figure lets just make the dress useful. Who knew it worked out really well. Carol did an awesome job. Elena was so adorable that day. I will post a close up of her gown later. My friend Brandi who is an awesome photographer took pictures of Elena up close. Also, Debbie my sister-in-law did a cute little braclet for her. I was so glad she did that because I was looking of one. By the way it was hot that day and as you can see I really didn't like the way I look.

My life with three!

Well, I have been joggling having three little ones at home. It has been hard but I am getting the hang of it. I think whats hard is trying to give your attention to all three of the kiddos. Samuel wants me to play with him while Gabriel wants me to play a game with him and baby is crying at the same time. UGH!!! I get a headache trying to figure out what to do. Obviously, my attention goes to the baby. Lately, the house has been a wreck and I feel like I am always cleaning. I haven't been spending time with the boys. I feel really guilty. I made a promise to spend an hour in the morning and an hour before dinner to play with them. I know that kind of sounds to you whats up with the rest of the day. Well, most of the time they do really well playing together and I let them watch a movie a day. If its really a bad day, two a day! During those time I try to clean and do laundry. It gets really piled up if I don't stick with a schedule. The other days I try to fill it up with play dates. I can't seem to find time to do my craft work as I would like to. I have so many ideas that I want to fiddle with but I just go downstairs and relax. I hope my energy comes back. I also try to fit in some exercise. Man, I don't know how many of you supermoms do it. I hope I can get it together. Any suggestions?
I guess I need to vent!

Being Home!!!

Well, Elena being early change plans. Poor Michael made his schedule to work early in the month of March and be off the week I turned 38 weeks. So, the 3rd day we were home Michael was schedule to work night shift for 4 days straight and be off one day and work 5 day straight after that. Can you imagine me handling nursing at night and not have enough sleep waking up to take care of the boys was really hard. I have been mean to the boys due to lack of sleep. I did try not to let it get to me because I know the boys feel bad when I yell at them.
The upside of things the boys do love their baby sister. Gabriel took about 3 days to love her. He really didn't want nothing to do with her. The day he finally wanted to hold her he was all smiles.

As for me, I am in love with my princesa!! It does feel weird having a girl. I keep telling Michael I can't believe we finally have one. So, will see how things go. Luckily, I was able to finish her room and make look girly. I was really glad how it turned out. Also, we were able to finally paint the boys room before Elena arrived.
I was able to make the lanterns with tissue paper and the one with flowers are made out of fabric. I painted the canvases and made the flowers in the flower pot. I still have stuff to put up. So, hopefully when I get a chance to finish I will post more pics.

Here is the boys room. They love the colors and so do I!! Samuel is the rocket and Gabriel is the plane. I also painted those.

Ok, so my water broke about 1:45 am on Tuesday. I was freaking out because I just couldn't believe what had just happen. Of course its not my first but at the same time in my mind I kept telling my self she is coming. I had a feeling that she was coming early but I didn't expect for her to come this early. Everything went well and she was born at 1:41 pm.
Introducing Elena Nohemy Mathson 6lbs 4oz and 19 and 1/2 inches long. She is a doll and we can't wait to take her home. As soon as I get home I will add more pictures. These are from my phone.

So, as always I am late with putting up stuff!!! I wanted to put some up before the year ends!!

Here are the boys raking up the leaves before the snow fell. They were such good helpers.

Well, here we are getting ready for Christmas!!! I love this holiday. The boys had fun decorating their gingerbread house at our good friend, Brandi's. Their friends were there and we love spending time with them. Now, looking at the houses you can tell which is Samuel and Gabriel.
Here is my small tree. Its not much put I really like it. Michael and I already bought a slight bigger tree for next year.

Now, it snow time!!! This is the first time we got snow for the year. It wasn't much but the kids had fun playing in it. Of, course it started to melt the next day but, at least it was fun for them.

Now, this is the snow day we were waiting for. It was a lot of snow and we couldn't wait to go outside. It was a few inches high and good for sledding.

As you can see this doesn't get boring at all. I wished I could of sled but next year I am up to it!!

We are all, doing well. I feel like I am big but you be the judge. I will post pictures of me later. Michael and I are trying to finish painting the boys room so they finally sleep in their own beds and be in one room again. I need to get the baby's room ready. I am excited to add some girl stuff into the room. First, I am trying to find a bed set that I like and then work around it. It has been hard being pregnant with the third just because I have to always chase Gabriel around. I swear this boy does not stay still. At, least he has me moving! We haven't picked a name yet. I would pick Melissa after my dear friend and sister. It was a thought Melissa!!! Good try. Love you though. Well, I hope everyone had enjoyed their holidays and is gearing up for next year. I know I am ready for it. Love you everyone and I am grateful for all your friendship!!!

Ok, everyone we have been waiting for a while to find out what is the gender of the baby. We found out yesterday that we will be expecting our first little GIRL sometime in April. We are so excited especially Samuel. Right before the tech. came in he told me "mom I hope its not a boy, I hope its a girl". I was really nervous because how can I tell him sorry that we are having a boy but thank goodness the tech. said its a girl. We can't wait to meet her!!

A little late but here are some October fun!!!

At first we went to Disney the beginning of October and we had a blast!!! Weather was great and the boys enjoyed the rides they were able to get on. It was really exhausting because we walked a lot. It was worth it but I payed a big price towards the end of the week. I got really sick and I could not get out of bed. I was hoping and praying that I could feel just a little better to travel the next day. Lucky I did and I was happy we got home!! I got worst!! It took over 3 weeks for me to get better. Ladies you know how hard it is to get sick and have kids running around. It all worked out!!! Here are some pictures of us in Disney.

Here are the boys waiting for our plane to go to Florida. It was quite a day!! Also, here is a picture of Grandpa and Gabriel. It was the first picture we took and we ended up going to Animal Kingdom!! As you can see Gabriel face expression and pointing to his favorite character, Mickey Mouse. Boy, he was so excited and it was just priceless to see him like that!!! As you can see from the pictures we had so much fun!!!

Halloween Time!!! Here are the boys painting their little pumpkins and then some. Also, Michael was able to carve a ghost on the big pumpkin.

So, here they are with their adorable costumes. First, was the church party. Samuel was one of the star war clones and of course Gabriel was following Daddies foot step by being a Doctor!

Now, on Halloween Samuel decided he wanted to be "The Thing" from Fantastic Four and Gabriel was Superman! We wen to Samuel friend Brayden Birthday party. He had so much fun and of course we went trick or treating in the rain.

We will be having baby number three the beginning of April!!!! We will find out sometime in November if its a boy or girl!! We are excited especially Samuel. He really wants a baby girl and I told him we will see. I am preparing him if its a boy but he is determine I am having a girl!!! I have been super tired and I am feeling a little bit better but still have some hard time eating!

Well, we started with Samuel playing soccer this fall!! He loves it and he does a good job playing! Michael is the coach and it works out so he can spend time with Samuel.

Also, in this lovely month Gabriel and I shared our birthday on the 24th. It was great!! At first I really didn't like the fact that we share one but I decided I had all my first and its his turn. He celebrated his 2nd birthday and he loved the trains!!! As for me well lets just say I am getting there. Michael took me to see Brian Regan!! I hope some of you know who he is because he is such a funny comedian. It was the best seeing him live and boy my cheeks were hurting from laughing!!

He also go his first actual hair cut!! Here is a before and after. I about cried when they started to cut but it came out looking good!

Samuel 's 4th Birthday!!!

Samuel's birthday was Sunday, August two. Michael and I celebrated his birthday four days later because of the weather. He had a pool party. He loved it and was really happy that his friends were there.
Here are some pictures I took on Sunday before we went to church. I wanted some pictures on his actual birthday.

Here is his dragon cake and pinata!!! He picked out the cake he wanted and Leah was great at helping me make it. It is an awesome cake!!! The pinata was also easy to make and Samuel was excited for that too!! By the way if you are wondering why he is in a sling its because his cousin Miguel pulled his wrist while he was going down the slide ended up spraining his wrist. What a birthday gift.
Michael was standing behind the gate because he was scared one of the kids would hit him!!!

So I love to dress the boys the with the same outfits and they don't mind. Anyways we were having fun on memorial day with our friends. They were loving the water balloons!!!
By the way Anne and I decided to be in a pie eating contest against four big guys. I know I was going to win but Anne really was about to beat the guys. She was so close but a the end she slowed down where on of the missionaries ended up winning and then two others caught up. She was so close to third place and she only had a bit left. I on the other hand was sitting next to Brad Butler and anybody who knows him you just can't stop laughing. I was eating the pie but at the same time was laughing and I couldn't swallow. I was doing my best and afterwards felt sick. I did not eat the rest of the day!!!

Ok so, my little man is sleeping in a big boy bed and it has been about 2 months. He loves his bed!! The boys always put things on and just be silly. Gabriel well lets just say he is a climber. Not on trees thank goodness but he just climbs on the counters and searches for food. He is my little squirrel!! He is so cute though. Here he is reading his book. He loves his dinosaur book!!
Now, Samuel is normally my good boy but as you can see in the picture that is sneaky. I told him to wash his hands and he took a while. I kind of figure its water there is nothing wrong with that. Well, little did I know he had open a vaseline bottle and puts some on his hair. Yea, but I didn't get mad at him because he already punish himself. It took a couple of days to come off!!

We went to downtown in Jonesborough for the 4th of July parade. The boys had fun!!

So they had some bounce houses in Jonesborough and this was one that was like the Gladiators. Poor Samuel the stick was to heavy for him and down he goes. But he did have fun!!

Here we are watching the fireworks!!! The boys were loving it. I just love their faces just seeing them look at it.

By the way I forgot to mention that we are owners to two little pups. We got them in March and their names are Sadie and Ben. They are good pups but there are times I could kill them. They are cute though!!!

Trip to NY!!

Ok, so I am really so in updating the blog but here we go!!! A few weeks ago I went to visit my family in NY. We drove 15 hours straight but we made it without killing the kids. We always have fun going to NY but the only thing I hate is that our vacation turns to trying to visit everyone before we have to leave. Its frustrating and tiring. I love seeing places and shopping!!!!! Boy, I am glad I don't live there because we would be broke. Also, its always nice to see different cultures again and eating the fooooood!!!!! That's another reason not to live there because I would be fat!!! I miss everyone and of course my family but there is a part of me that always tells me not to live there. I love the quitenes and not having my day pass by fast. I really enjoy living in TN. It so peacful for me here and no worries. I do love it up there and that will always be my home!! Well, we headed back on the 5th day and took back our nephew Miguel for the summer. We stopped over in Harrisonburg in VA for the night. It is really nice there and it was only four ours away from TN. The next day was the worst day. Those four hours felt forever!!! I seriouly lost my patience with the kids. I just wanted to get home. We finally made it and poor Michael had to work that night. Any who we hope that it would be fun having him here. Samuel loves his cousin and its kind of nice to have an older kid around to help out.

Well, here is my dad and the boys at his house. I love this picture with Gabriel because my dad has a little angel water fountain that pees. Well the boys always goes and play with the water. I just think it hilarous. So we made Gabriel take a pose as the angel.

We went out with my sisters and my friends and had fun with them!! We also got free desert because we told the waitress that Miguel and Samuel are having a birthday.It was ture in a few weeks!!!

I thought I could throw this picture in. My friend who I always go to cut my hair when I visit was now cutting my boys hair. This is Gabriel second time going to a salon and he does such a good job sitting there. Such a big boy!!

It's been a crazy in the Mathson household!!

Well to get started my boys got sick early March. Both of them were really miserable. One was vomiting and the other was running a high fever and both of them did not want to eat. They just slept in the cough the whole time. Its kind of nice to have them sick at the same time. I don't have to chase one around!! I felt bad though. The whole time they wanted me to sit with them. Two days later Michael got sick. I was really glad that it was just 24 hours.
Two weeks later I found out that my friends dad passed away. A sudden heart attack at 49. I then flew with the boys to NY. Michael had to stay. It was easy flying there. Thank goodness!! I stayed for a week. My friend Maira was strong especially for her boys. It was hard for all of us but in a way I felt peace in my heart because I know he is fine. Its good to know the gospel! There was a part where it was hard for me. His viewing was located at the same place as my moms. It has been almost nine years and everyday I think of her.
After our week stay we traveled back home and that was tough. The boys got sick again!!! Samuel was crying in the plane and Gabriel had diarrhea. I had both of them at the same time in the bathroom and they were crying. All of you moms know how frustrating that is especially, by yourself. I just wanted to go home so bad. Lucky we got home safe.
After we got home they were both feeling crabby. That weekend my sister-in-law Anne had her baby shower. She is having a girl. Yay. Also, we were leaving to NC, Winston-Salem to see our friends the Smiths. We had a great time.

Later after all the sickness going around I finally got sick. I thought I would of gotten away from it but I guess it caught up to me. I had it bad for 24 hours. It was nice to feel a little better and walk around because Michael had night shifts so I had no choice to feel better.
What made me feel really bad I also found out that my friend was killed in Afghanistan. He was suppose to be home days later. I think that made me really mad because he was almost home to see his wife my friend Brooke.My love and prayers go out to her. I can not imagine losing my husband. That is hard. He is a hero and he was a great solider. This is an old picture. Its about 6yrs old. Brooke is the one on the far right and of course Frankie is hugging me. They both met in the YSA in NY. He was so young. I will always love Frankie.

So I know I haven't been faithful with the blog. I will do my best. So, we are great the boys are getting big. We went to walmart and they had Elmo and Hulk there. Elmo was very friendly but the Hulk very Scary. Samuel did not want to take a picture with him. I don't blame him!!

So we went to the Ripleys aquarium and the boys loved it. As you can see Gabriel was so amazed with the fishes. We went under a tunnel were the wishes were swimming around us. The best part was seeing the sharks!!

Everyone had a great time. It's expensive to go there but we were lucky we had a great deal. We hope soon we can go to the zoo especially when the weather gets better.

We finally moved in before Thanksgiving. It has been crazy since but little by little I am getting there. So, here are some pictures of our lovely home. It is small but we love it! We have a nice front yard and big back yard. It will takes us a long time to cut the grass since we don't have a riding lawn mower. It will be a great exercise though!! We live really close to an elementary school; which is nice when Samuel starts.

As you can see I haven't decorated yet. I was just waiting after Christmas. I am trying to find a nice color for the kitchen. We put new cabinets and counter tops. We love it! The french door you see in the kitchen leads to our work room, laundry room office and pantry. Excuse the mess but it has been busy here. I will get it together this year. That, my friends, is m y one goal!

The pantry is right after the piano. We had to break the wall down to make it into a pantry. Michael had fun doing that but it is such a useful space now. I am still organizing our food storage.
As you can see my wonderful husband gave me an early valentine, anniversary, and birthday gift. I love my piano. I just started to learn how to play and can't wait to teach my boys!! Sorry, just jumped into a different subject now going back.
Downstairs we will turn it into a family room. As you can see we have lots of work ahead of us. We hope to finish it at the end of the year. I have to start saving for that!!

I will put more pictures later just because our bedrooms are not ready to be viewed.

Our family is way excited to be here for now and I just don't want to think about moving yet even though it will happen.

Gabriel's 1st Birthday!!

Gabriel and I had a birthday together. I decided that he should celebrate his own birthday and I celebrate my own on the weekends!
I was just going to do a simple cake but then I thought it's his first birthday. So I quickly went to Krogers (grocery store) and see if I can have an idea on a cake. I then quickly saw a little people cake. I was excited because Samuel had the farm set. I quickly went home to decorate the cake and then I used his toys. I decorated this cake within 20 minutes. Not to bad. It came out cute.

Well Gabriel is such a joy as well. He is my chubby whabby. He has grown a lot. He is already fitting 18 to 24 months. I am trying to keep up with him. He loves to eat.
He loves his big brother. Gabriel is always interested in what Samuel is doing. I love seeing both my boys play together. At times it can be rough! If Samuel is taking a nap Gabriel will push the door open and stand by his bed and try to wake him up. Its cute but not when he wakes Samuel.
As any boy he is a mommies boy. He will crawl around and follow me, even to the bathroom.
He is going to be 1 next week. Its crazy!! He is not walking yet but he is taking a few steps. He is just taking his time. I won't push him that much because I don't want him to grow up too fast.

My baby is not a baby anymore. Samuel just turned 3 in August. Since we put him in soccer. He loves it, but only at home. He does not like to play in field. Its been a little over 2wks and he has shown improvement in front of people. Most of the time he just runs in circles. He does a pretty good job running with the ball. Like some 3yr olds he is shy!! Big surprise. He is trying to break out of his shell. I am proud of him.
Samuel is his own person. I can see that. He is very sensitive to others feeling especially his own. He likes to act things out and play dress up. Most of the time he will wear his pjs the whole day. I have to struggle with him to put on normal clothes when we go out. There are times when he wins!

We are finally closing on a house on the 30th!!

Michael and I were looking around for a house that will suit us while Michael goes back to school. Yes, you read it write. He is planning to go back to become an MD. I am happy for him pursing his passion but just a little stress. I am glad that I could have a place of my own.
